Plan your session

Every session will start with a discussion of your horse’s situation and needs, and a brief evaluation. The “menu” below provides an indication of what types of modalities we may decide to use for maximum effectiveness. Please call or text me at (713) 726 - 6792 to discuss.

Equine Myomanipulative Massage

This is my go-to treatment, a full body massage where I use my hands to identify and release areas of tension in the body. It starts with an evaluation followed by relaxation work and then a series of passes to identify and relieve areas of tension through techniques including petrissage, triggerpoint release therapy, tapotements etc. Depending on the horse this session tends to run 45-75 minutes. It includes a case report emailed to you afterwards.

$75

Holistic Equine Bodywork Session

This treatment is an expanded version of my standard full body massage, but with all the goodies. Depending on what emerges in the massage I may integrate Cold Laser, Core muscle Stim, limited kinesiology tape application, Gua sha tools, Cranialsacral techniques, etc. Depending on the horse this session tends to run 60-90 minutes. It includes a case report emailed to you afterwards.

Intro to massage

This is a great way to start with a horse who has never had bodywork, to test their responsiveness and identify potential areas of future work. starts with an evaluation followed by relaxation work and then a slightly deeper dive to identify and potentially start to address areas of tension. This session tends to run 30 minutes. Depending on the schedule and the horse’s reaction, it can be expanded to a full session.

$45

Horse show mini massage

I am often available at horse shows, and horses at competitions benefit from a relaxation session to help unwind muscles frm the extra work and stress they may be subjected to at a show. Check with me to confirm my availability! This session tends to run 30 minutes. Depending on the schedule and the horse’s reaction, it can be expanded to a full session.

Cold Laser Therapy

I utilize a class 3B cold laser. This therapy has been FDA approved to expedite bone healing in humans since 2002. The laser works in a targeted area with a limited depth of penetration and has been shown to decrease recovery time for tendon and ligament injuries by up to 70%. I also integrate this technique to address chronic long held stress points in muscles. The effects are cumulative, and working with your vet I may recommend a regime of several sessions over a period of time. Session time may vary, typically 15-30 minutes per application.

Cranialsacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy connects the equine therapist to the central nervous system of the horse. It leverages the subtle pulse created by the generation of cerebrospinal fluid in the cranium and transmitted down the spine to the sacrum. CST is a very gentle technique that works to realign the skeletal structure and relaxes the animal. The gentle work to remove restrictions to the free flow of fluid through the CNS can be immensely helpful in bringing balance to horses who carry emotional stress. I often integrate elements of this technique into my holistic bodywork sessions. A CST only session lasts about 30 minutes, but can vary significantly.

$40

Kinesiology Tape Session

This technique has long been used on human athletes and as its effectiveness continues to be demonstrated for horses, its use is becoming more common. It pairs well with a holistic massage or after a chiropractic treatment, to promote and support the effect of treatment. Ktape can activate or relax muscle activity depending on the application. It can be used to support and stabilize tendons and ligaments while allowing full range of motion.
